May: The Go blonde in Latvia

The Go Blonde Festival is a yearly event held in Latvia. It involves blond women dressed in pink going on a parade in Riga in order to promote economic growth and cheer up people. The event is organized by the Latvia Association of Blondes.

The parade has also become a tourist attraction in Riga for visitors drawn by more than the city’s fine Art Nouveau architecture. It is a tourism generator, compared to events such as carnivals in Brazil and Italy.

It’ interesting how each festival represents the cultural background of different part of Japan. Culture is one of the place where we live in and makes us who we are.
